Like a jalopy rolling through the California desert, the Allah Las have a beautiful olden grittiness to their sound—microphones seemingly caked in sand, age-old amps that probably only have a treble setting, and what sounds like a caravan of tambourine players passing in the distance. On their upcoming West Coast tour, they’ll be hawking a new limited-edition 7″ vinyl featuring two previously unreleased tracks, “Had It All” b/w “Every Girl.” The release is only available on the band’s merch table or through Innovative Leisure. Greetings friends and fellow travelers. As the year comes to a close, we find ourselves looking back on all the great music that came out of 2012. This year offered much hope for the future, including the emergence of folk singer-songwriter Jessica Pratt; Swedish music collective GOAT; Southern England’s Beaulieu Porch; and new Brooklyn based label Beyond Beyond is Beyond, who brought us the debut album from Prince Rupert’s Drops. Los Angeles-based psych band The Allah Las have released a video for the song “Tell Me (What’s On Your Mind).” The track comes off a new 45″ backed by the instrumental, “Sacred Sands.” You can pick up a copy now via Innovative Leisure.
